The blueberries  and raspberries were in season and grow everywhere
in this region.  Needless to say they were part of every meal.

Watching the full moon rise over Adams Lake.
I followed this curious Mink for 20 minutes one
evening as it patrolled the riverbank for food.
The view from my camp on Adams Lake.
I saw more Loons this trip then I have
on any previous trip.  Although, their
haunting calls were surprisingly absent
most evenings.  Being later in the
season they've become use to seeing
paddlers and are quite tame.

Rapids along the Kawishiwi River during a gloomy
and windy afternoon.
Beaver swimming across a fog covered lake.
A Bald Eagle finds food along the
Kawishiwi River.

Bald Eagles don't acquire their white
head and tail feathers until the fourth
or fifth year.  This one looks like it's
just starting to grow in.
A slow shutter speed blurs the water of the Kawishiwi River.
The sun comes out and the winds calm after an
evening shower.
Mergansers search the shoreline for food.
A Water Lilly grows near the portage to Beaver Lake.
Near camp on Kawasachong Lake.
This spot became my lunchroom for the two days I was in the area.
Oatmeal tastes so much better when you have a view like this :)

Unfortunately all trips must eventually come to an end...

The original plan was to loop
through the remote interior
portions of the BWCA on the
Frost and Louse rivers in
search of moose.
Unfortunately, due to high winds
and a stolen portage yoke, I was
unable to travel that far.  I opted
instead to wander the area of
the Kawishiwi River north to
beautiful Adams Lake and back
again to my starting point on
Kawishiwi Lake.

To my disappointment I saw no
moose.   Luckily, I was
presented with many wonderful
scenes and an experience I will
always remember.
